Christmas panto time at The Mayflower

This year marks Jeffrey Holland’s 41st pantomime season, and his twenty-fifth as pantomime dame.

The Hi-De-Hi star appears as Dame Trot in Jack and the Beanstalk, which runs at The Mayflower in Southampton between Saturday, December 22, 2012 and Saturday, January 19, 2013. It is his second visit to The Mayflower. In 1994 he starred as Sarah the Cook in Dick Whittington. He will once again don the frocks and make-up, to this time take on the role of Dame Trot.

Jeffrey’s volume of work is enormous, having appeared on stage in the West End and throughout the UK. Jeffrey is well-known for his television roles including the classic, hit programmes Are You Being Served?, Hi-de-Hi, You Rang M’Lord and Oh! Dr Beeching.

Close beside him will be Celebrity Big Brother winner Julian Clary, who will star as Spirit of the Beans while Corrie’s Nigel Havers takes on the role of Fleshcreep.

Lee Mead makes his pantomime debut in the title role of Jack and comedian and ventriloquist Paul Zerdin, will be Simple Simon and his cheeky companion Sam. They are joined by news journalist Shireen Jordan as the Lady in Waiting.

Jack and the Beanstalk is produced by Qdos Entertainment, the world’s largest pantomime producer. Featuring a larger-than-life beanstalk and one very mean giant at the top of it!
